You shine so bright it's insane, you put the sun to shame. It was unlike Edith to sneak out, especially since she'd come to live with the Amhersts. Sure, her ultra religious parents who would have barred her windows if they'd had the chance were scary, but, being told you're a prophet of the Lord and that all the monsters you grew up believing were pretend are actually real, breathing, killing, and possibly living next door... Yikes. None the less, here she was. The soft pitter patter of her newly teenaged feet thudding against the cold ground, chocolate hair blowing slightly in the mild winds. She hadn't the slightest idea where she was going, but she hoped there was a park somewhere close by, so she could just sit and clear her head. She'd left a note for Eve, just as Samil had told her she should do the next time she left the place her guardians had put her. It wouldn't be very effective, though, if they were trying to locate her for some reason. "Eve, Out for a walk. -Edith." Oh well. At least it was something. What did they expect? Eve was too busy dealing with other hunters to keep Edith company this trip, and the Chat rooms only sustained her interest for so long. Looking skyward, the young prophet hoped Samil wouldn't make an appearance. Actually, she hoped he wasn't watching at all. It was rare, but sometimes he checked in on Zee, his other charge. Edith was craving privacy after her most recent vision. As she rounded the corner onto yet another unnamed street, she saw someone walking ahead. He seemed to be just a regular man, which would cause a bit of anxiety for any other normal, attractive, teenage girl. But for Edith, normal=safe...ish. A young-looking man shuffled along as he watched people pass by him. None of them met his eyes or stopped to stare. It is definitely an unique day. The phoenix kept walking forward, as he thought about the night earlier. He is wearing a sky blue shirt and tan shorts that most people think of the out fit...Quite modern and ordinary, which doesn't draw any attention. Darrius has always wanted to fit and hide into modern society, that is why he dress in this type of clothes.
That night he met the woman of his dreams, Miranda Switz. A small, soft smile played at his lips as he thought of the pretty, mortal waitress. Darrius sighed as he turned onto an unnamed street and kept on walking forward. his dirty-blond hair waved a little as the icy fingers of the wind played with its tufts.
Darrius paused a little as he felt eyes on him and turned to see a woman or a mortal staring at him. He smile at her invitingly before gesturing an invite over to Edith before keeping to his slow walk. His blue eyes blinked at the sky as he muffled a sigh.

You shine so bright it's insane, you put the sun to shame. As the blonde stranger gestured her over, Edith had to do a double take, looking in all directions. Me? She was slightly confused. Why did this man want to talk, walk, or spend time with a young girl? Typically, this only happened for one of two reasons. Either, he was a demon or monster of some kind, and he wanted to press her for information, torture, kill, or even eat her. Or, he was a creepy guy with a thing for teens. But, there was of course a chance that he was just a lonely fellow looking for company. Hoping for the latter, Edith meandered over towards him anyways. "Um. Hi." She spoke from a little over an arm's length distance, her tone slightly terrified, . "Did you, um, need something?"[style=width:402; background-color:ffcc33; height:17; font-family:arial narrow; font-size:10; font-style:underlined; text-transform:uppercase; text-align:center; color:000000;] Location: Unnamed street, Nebraska. Darrius kept up at a slow walk and smiled politely and friendly to the woman who came up. "Hi and good evening. How are doing today, miss? I also can tell that you are brave, gifted and quite pretty." he said softly as he kept his hands in his tan short's pockets. His blue eyes looked at the woman in the face and shook his head. "No, I am not hear to do any harm. I just need someone to talk to for maybe a hour of a stroll. Do you have the time to spare?" he asked politely as he stared around.
"If your scared of me, you have no reason to be wary of me. I most likely be a trustworthy friend and a protector. Demons tend to stay away from me." he said softly as he looked down to stop. The immortal waited for Edith's answer. He still doesn't know that she is a profit.

You shine so bright it's insane, you put the sun to shame. Edith's eyes widened, her blood pressure skyrocketing. It was very atypical for those who knew about the supernatural rhelm, to spout off about it to complete strangers. Luckily for him, she of course already knew about demons and what goes bump in the night. But, what if she hadn't? He would have scared the daylights out of an innocent child, and most likely have made himself look insane in the same token. Pausing for a moment to think, she considered the possibility that he had already known who, and what, she was. It was the only logical explanation for his very relaxed tongue when speaking about the supernatural. But, she couldn't be sure until she'd poked and prodded with passive questions. "What makes you think I know anything about demons?" She asked, blushing brightly at his compliment. Though, she thought it was a bit strange, coming from a grown man. "And, erhm, thanks." She tucked a few dark strands behind her ears and continued on down the darkened street. Eve's so gunna kill me. She thought to herself, wincing at the probability that she would frighten, anger, and or disappoint the appointed gaurdian she clung to so desperately. She half thought about turning around and heading back to the hotel, but for whatever reason, she didn't. "I've got an hour." She told him, making sure to keep her distance and looking up to the heavens for a brief moment, regretting her previous prayer that Samil be minding his own business tonight. Darrius smiled, "I know you know of the supernatural world, since you seemed a bit frightened when you came out." he said softly before looking down a little bit. His stride kept on going, but really slowly as he stayed beside Edith.
"Your welcome." he said when Edith thanked him for his complement. He then smile politely, "I am so glad that you agreed on for a stroll. I have a lot of info that might be handy to you. Anyway, I should tell you my name. My name is Darrius Ajax Ambrose. Citizens, supernaturals and hunters call me Darrius." he said to Edith with a soft nod of his head.
"You can ask me anything and I will do my best to answer them." the immortal said politely to the profit. He knows that his information will easily help with Edith's life...maybe.

You shine so bright it's insane, you put the sun to shame. "Do you usually go around asking kids to take walks with you in the middle of the night?" She looked up at him, still suspicious of his intentions. "It's totally weird, not gunna lie." She scratched her neck nervously as he offered his full name, and used the words "civilians," "hunters," and "supernaturals." Boy, this guy was loose lipped. Edith made a mental note not to tell the mysterious stranger any secrets in the future. "I'm Edith." She didn't feel comfortable sharing her full name, and she wasn't about to offer up any additional details about herself, not just yet anyways. One thing she had learned from both Samil, the Amhersts, and even her parents, was not to talk to strangers and more importantly, not to give out any personal information when doing so was unavoidable. Her brows raised again as he offered to tell her anything she wanted to know, and answer any questions she may have for him. Edith laughed aloud, "questions? Seriously?" She hadn't planned on responding further, but the words poured out of her mouth like a waterfall, before she could catch herself. "How about why demons exist in the first place? Why God, who is supposed to be holy and just, would let his people become possessed, do evil things and die, if he can just send all the demons in the world back to hell? There's another question, what about hell? Aren't people supposed to stay down there when they die? Not come back up and roam around, causing more problems for the rest of us? How about why there are so many creatures out there that have no explanation? Like my best friend, she's a... I don't even know what she is, and somehow people don't believe in monsters or ghosts or spirits? And! Why do I have to know about it when nobody else does? God must be a whole lot stupider than I thought, if he chose me to be..." She finally managed to cut herself off, before revealing her identity, and immediately regretted having embarrassed herself by rambling on aimlessly. Darrius smiled at Edith who easily said a bunch of questions. He waited for her to be done asking before starting to answer them. "Well, not really. I just spend a bunch of my time watching them and watching their lives progress. I have seen and watch many children over the past decades. I watch them grow to adult hood, have children and die during old age. I have seen about three generations of people in my life time which is about 300 years." he told Edith politely. "Also, I don't take walks with many people in the past. Your one of the few I spend time talking to." he told Edith politely.
He then smiled again politely. "Well, nice to meet you Edith. My name is Darrius or Darrius Ajax Ambrose. I have been on earth since 1764." he said to Edith. "Now, I should answer the rest of your questions. Demons, they can be souls of people that are stuck in Hell for a weird reason. While, angels that turn against their brothers, sisters and God...these angels are the worst demons to be with. They will stop at nothing in hurting others with their hatred." he told the prophet politely. "I really can't tell you the answers about God, since I never met him in my life. Sorry, miss." the phoenix sighed.
Darrius heard Edith ask, "How about why there are so many creatures out there that have no explanation?" and cocked his head slightly. "Well, I am one of those creatures..miss." he told her softly. "Some are on the good side, miss. Like I...I am a creature hunter that hunts demons and protects the weak." the immortal said softly as he stared at the sky. "There are also some creatures that are on the other side, who still roam the world to hurt others. I am definitely not one of those groups that do harm to the innocent." the immortal creature smiled as he ruffled his hands in his pockets.

You shine so bright it's insane, you put the sun to shame. Edith quirked a brow as the man, now known as Darrius, answered her questions and offered intimate details about himself without hesitation. She listened carefully as he spoke, rolling her eyes at his explanations. As if she hadn't heard all of those things before. "Yeah, yeah, I know. Still. It's all just.." She paused, looking back and forth quickly before speaking a word she'd never said before, "bullshit." She smiled. Being free from her over-protective parents and their high expectations definitely had it's perks. No one here really cared whether or not she cursed, didn't make her bed, or wore shorts that were above her knees. "Wait, you're three hundred years old?" She'd heard him when he said it earlier, but she'd gotten caught up in the answers he was providing and hadn't thought to address it until now. When he finally went quiet, his explanations given and his story finished, Edith's blood ran cold. "Y-you're a creature?" She back peddled quickly, her feet stumbling over each other, "stay away from me! I don't care how good you think you are, you're not natural!"[style=width:402; background-color:ffcc33; height:17; font-family:arial; font-size:10; font-style:underlined; text-transform:uppercase; text-align:center; color:000000;] Location: Unnamed street, Nebraska. Darrius paused as the woman started to freak out about him being a creature. His blue eyes blinked as she started to back up from him. The phoenix open and then closed his mouth with nothing to say. "Why are you frightened of me, miss?" he asked softly.
The immortal stopped his walking as he eyed Edith softly. "There is no need for fright." he murmured before turning around and walked over to a wall. Turning back around he leaned against a wall and watched Edith with kind, friendly and soft eyes. He is still wondering why she is so freaked out about him. Darrius's dirty-blond hair waved into the wind which threaded itself among the hair.
The immortal sighed and relaxed his shoulders and turned to watch some birds fly by.

You shine so bright it's insane, you put the sun to shame. "Why am I frightened? Is that a joke?" Edith spat the words at him, in her typical paranoia turned ornery teenager tone. "I have no reason to not be frightened. It's late, it's dark, I'm alone, a random stranger starts talking to me about supernatural crap, and then tells me he's a creature himself! What didja think was gunna happen?" Edith looked back and forth, still moving away from Darrius and back towards her and Eve's hotel. "I need to go. Now." Edith was never one to talk to strangers, or wander around at night alone in the first place. This was confirming her reasoning behind all that. The first time she breaks out of her shell, she runs into a supernatural thing who probably wants to kill her, or use her, or something. Granted, not the most logical train of thought, as there are hundreds of "good" creatures out there. But, to a thirteen year old prophet with little experience in this realm, no such thing exists. Therefor, Darrius must be out to get her, somehow. The phoenix cocked his head slightly with a curious spark his blue eyes. He heard Edith, but he has no comment on her words. The prophet is right, which he understands her words, but tonight is much different then Edith thinks. Darrius would likely let the woman go to her apartment by herself, if he did not sense something evil nearby. Tonight is also the night that is not really safe. His immortal, cunning and shaped senses felt a presence that seems to be here to only do harm on the innocent.
Edith was likely going to step into the wrong person. Darrius slightly rolled his eyes at the nervous prophet that needs to be safe. His heart hammered in his strong chest as he watched the woman who retreated away from. All his instinct knew is that he has to stay near the woman. His blue eyes examined his surroundings and paused in mid step as he saw something move in front of Edith. It was a slight change to the surroundings, and Darrius knew that a dangerous life source is getting really close to the woman. The phoenix held his breath as a black-eyed demon stepped into Edith's path. Darrius's blue eyes narrowed as he hurried over as the woman ultimately bumped into the evil soul. (Sh*t, there goes a demon) he thought as he hurried as the demon took Edith in his clutches.
