It all started with Iran. Iran invaded the Israelis, the U.S. responded in kind by running bombing runs over Shiraz. Soon the Iranian Union was formed, consisting of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and the fallen Israel. Soon the I.U. started collecting more and more to it's cause, at first they were smaller countries who feared they would be destroyed otherwise, but after the joining of Kazakhstan and the attacks on India both Russia and China were in the crosshairs of the I.U. Both countries joined creating the Anti Democracy Assemblage, or The A.D.A. Soon the A.D.A. began launching attacks on Japan and India, American and European Union troops flooded into both countries. After months of siege India finally fell to the A.D.A. Japan fared much better, the Allied Forces keeping the country. Saudis Arabia, Vietnam, and North Korea pledged there support soon after. From there footholds, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, and South Korea all fell into the clutches of the A.D.A. The Allied Forces, consisting of America and the E.U., scrambled, desperately trying to gain more forces to stop the communism that had swept through the Middle East and Asia. Mexico, Canada, Cuba, and Brazil soon joined the Allies. Others joined in fear of being forced to, the oil rich land of Venezuela, Chile, Australia, and The Philippines. Every country had to make a choice, and if they didn't the choice was made for them. In the end it was the Allied Countries for Freedom against the Anti Democracy Assemblage, the two powerhouses lobbed missiles at eachother, fought on soils bothe foreign and domestic, drafts were instituted for anyone who was older than sixteen, and both forces threatened nuclear warfare but neither had fired a warhead. Soon Japan fell from the endless onslaught coming out of China, that's when the A.C.F. struck. Beijing, Moscow, Tripoli, Tehran, Tokyo, Pyongyang, and Riyadh all were struck by Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles, commonly referred to as Nukes. The A.D.A. response followed hours later with Nuclear attacks on Washington D.C., Denver, Mexico City, Chihuahua, Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, St. Louis, Ottawa, Tronto, Quebec, Anchorage, Queensland, Brasílía, São Paulo, Caracas, Bogotá, and Medellin. Both forces were crippled by the exchange of Nuclear Missiles, all major cities, military bases, satelites, and capitols were wiped off the map. WWIII had started and ended within four years, nuclear fallout quickly claimed the Earth. Seventy five percent of the planet's population was dead.
Even before the first World War, there was a set of people who could do amazing things. Things that other people couldn't do, these people were gifted the ability to do extraordinary things. In 1909, a man named Joshua Francois recognized the growing number of these gifted individuals, he himself was one of them, an academy was created as a safe haven for these people. The Academy for Wayward Strays was founded, it had lasted through many wars, attempts to get it shut down, and even attacks on the school itself. But during WWIII it's being in the middle of no where was an advantage. The nuclear radiation had created more of these gifted individuals, some had fought in the war others had survived the onslaught at home. The Fourth Scholar had overseen the school during the four years of the war, providing a safe place for not only gifteds but even those without any gifts. Now that the war is over the Fourth Scholar has stepped down, wanting to spend the last few years of his life in relaxation and with family. The Scholars have always been picked by the bloodline of the first Scholar, the Fourth Scholar did not have any children, the nearest eligible blood relative was his nephew. That nephew was a student at the school, an eighteen year old boy by the name of Gian.
The school has been thrown into the fire, the Scholar being replaced by a young man. A young man who isn't capable of teaching, a young man who is just trying to keep his head above the water. Gian, the fifth Scholar, isn't prepared for this. If he can keep the place from falling down around him his reign might be considered a success.
