Well it was a little something like a smirk, more like the grin of a shark right before it closed its jaws down on some poor unsuspecting prey and ate it. He looked downright evil with that particular look on his face, but he couldn't help the minor indulgence, even if some women that had been eying him rather lustfully skittered away at the sight. Not that it helped any, humans such stupid creatures, they were afraid of his smile, if only they had any idea what he was fully capable of doing to them without a second thought.
But he wasn't here looking for a past time plaything, well....maybe you could call her that. He grit his teeth at the sudden thought of the woman in question. Little bitch. Did she really think she would be able to get away? They had a contract, in fact he was the one holding it and just because one of his asshole holier-then-thou siblings decided to stick their nose in where it didn't belong. Meddlesome, utterly meddlesome, they were quickly showing to be bigger pains in the asses as of late. Pulling one of his little bitches out of Hell and giving her a soul? The idea of redemption was a joke as far as he was concerned, and he was going to show them what a laughable idea it was. He would have ol' Ruby back.
And there she was, juggling some food, no doubt for that caravan of idiots she was with as of late and the smile reappeared on his face. There were so many ways to go about this, he could always be straight forward about his intentions, though that could potentially scare her off, he could play the gentlemen, try and get closer and see if he could steer her back in the right direction. That sounded good actually. It wasn't much of a problem to use a little telepathy to get her wallet to hit the ground as she walked past him, completely unaware of who he was, "Excuse me miss, but I believe you dropped this," Belial said in that smooth Irish purr that was partially his and partially his vessels, as he kneeled down, picking up the wallet and holding it out to her, looking up at her with those intense blue eyes of his from where he was kneeling.

Ever since she’d gotten back she’d tried to resist temptation, that terrible gnawing want in her warring with her trying to be good. She’d only lasted a few days before she could no longer take it, the diner near the hotel was like a siren calling out to her in the sweetest voice “french fries….”. Not only that but she saw they had a little shop inside it as well with snacks of all kinds. As the group stopped at a hotel nearby to see about checking in she excused herself from Sam and the rest and beat feet towards it, unable to stop herself anymore. She knew Sam would understand. Okay so she was human now and that condition came with certain disadvantages, like if you eat everything in sight you will get a stomach ache and fat. So she promised herself she’d be good, just some fries and a snack or two….willpower against food was not her strong point. She held the takeout carton with her beloved french fries in one hand while balancing the rest of her purchases in the other. They had seemed to have every food she loved while she was alive, or a demon, last time, Twinkies, Doritos, Cherry Coke, Kit Kats, Twizzlers, and chocolate covered cherries. Yes, junk food junkie was one way to describe her, so it was perfectly understandable when her wallet fell from her grasp, even though she was sure she had a hold on it. Giving Belial a small smile she carefully took the wallet back, adjusting the items in her arms so she could better hold it all. “Thanks, if only we had more arms right?” She didn’t even think to consider being wary in this situation, where before she’d have been cautious anytime she had anyone approach her, now as a human she seemed a bit more trusting. She also didn’t have Sam with her so the protective streak where he was concerned was relaxed. Really though he was wondering why evolution hadn't helped this little hairless apes out and given them another arm or two yet. Yes they were in His image and all that la-tee-da, but evolution did actually exist as well. Stupid creatures, the most that had changed since the time Moses was shambling about was an insane population explosion, some had gotten taller, and they had advanced their technology to the point that it was killing the planet. And he was thought of as the murderer, what a load of crap, "Maybe one day, even if it would make us a funny looking bunch," Was that even funny? Belial needed to work on this humor thing.
Getting up he carefully dusted off his pants, the demon really couldn't stand looking anything less then his absolute best at all times. It was the reason he wasn't always picking fights and torturing things, he was quite good at it, but it was just so messy, "If you'd like, I'm willing to give you a hand with all your bags, it beats going home and watching bad prime time tv," No really, anything beat sitting and watching the crap humans tried to pass off as 'good television' no wonder they seemed to get stupider and stupider as the generation passed.
"It could be my good deed for the week," Belial gave her what he thought as a cheery smile, not that he had any sort of experience with those facial expressions, offering a hand out to take a bag from her. This had better work to his advantage, if it didn't he was going to level the town for the damn humiliation he was feeling at this 'good guy' song and dance he was doing right now. Really what he wanted to do was grab her by the hair and slam her face first into a wall until she begged for some sort of mercy, then drag her soul with him back down to the deepest pit in hell he could reach. It just annoyed him that much that she managed to get away, well hopefully he could get under her skin with this masquerade and get her back on his side.

See the truth of it at her core was this, she’d face anything to keep Sam safe and if she didn’t have to involve anyone else in her problems she wouldn’t. Home, the caravan, with a stranger, the thought of it made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. Of course she herself had years of practice at hiding such reactions, her lips twisting into a small smirk, the mask she hid her emotions away behind. “Oh I know it looks like a huge amount of food to carry and a little girl like me can barely manage but I think I can do okay. Besides I’m not used to picking up random guys at the corner store.” There was that dry wit she was so famous for, covering up the fact that her weakness was back with the group of people she was traveling with. Or at least she thought she had, the truth was since she became human again she’d not had time to perfect every nuance of expression she once had, true same body but different experience. Small things like perhaps a twitch of her neck at the word home or her eyes moving away from his a little to fast as he spoke about good deeds. “Besides good deeds come in oh so many packages, like for instance, helping little old ladies across the street, have you tried that?” She brought her dark eyes back up to face him again a moment, then moved over to an open counter, depositing the junk food, her take out already paid for. As much as snacks were wanted she also wanted her hands semi free. She’d never been great with firearms, her true skills lay with hand to hand, knife fighting in fact, even without her special blade she was damned good at it. “I really shouldn’t get all that anyway, see good deed done, you saved me time at the gym to work off all those calories. I’m Rory by the way….you are?” That fake name, one she had practiced, coming off her lips so easily as if it really was hers. She stretched out her hand to him at the introduction, waiting expectantly. In reality Belial just wanted to cut her tongue out for all the smart mouthing she was doing. God he hated people, especially when they decided to get snippy with him. Mentally smoothing his ruffled feathers Bel had to remind himself that she didn't know who he was right now, he was just a little too good at pretending to be some jackass human male apparently. "That was last week's good deed as a matter of fact, charming old lady who accidentally dyed her hair blue," Actually he had fed the little old lady, who happened to be a horrible bitch, to his favorite pet hell hound, but she didn't need to know that right now, "Tell me, are you always so defensive when someone goes out of their way to try and help you?" Alright so Belial couldn't help but get that subtle jab in as a question, he couldn't blame the suspicion but was still mildly irritated about the verbal rebuff he had received. The man had to take a deep breath and stop the comment that her ass was looking a little out of control and that she should probably hit the gym anyway. It wasn't so bad actually, but he was an asshole and assholes said that sort of thing to women, because they were always so self conscious about their asses for whatever reason. Taking her hand and giving her the most fetching smile he could get this form to give and gave the back of her hand a kiss, "Rory is it?" He couldn't fight the mischief that seemed to dance in those eerily ice blue eyes of his at the sound of the name, liar liar, "Im Isaac, pleasure to meet you, even if you seem so wary of me for no reason," Just wanted to point that out, a mock pout on his lips as he looked at her. It has something to do with young single girl being asked by stranger to go back to her place. While I’m aware that some girls probably jump at that chance some also get murdered because of it.” She shrugged off the words as if they didn’t mean much to her, in fact though she was looking for little clues, small ticks, something that might label him a danger. Course not much she could do about if he was, not yet anyway, and like hell she’d run back to the caravan like some simpering little girl whining for help because some human man made her feel uncomfortable. No, she could handle this; she’d dealt with worse threats in her centuries. “Now if you find me so intriguing that you can’t help but be parted from me why don’t I buy you a soda and we can sit out on the bench outside and talk, that way you can work on that whole stranger issue you have with me and I can work on this trust issue I have with you. Plus the longer we banter back and forth the colder my fries get and I get seriously grumpy over cold fries.” Her tone a little more playful at that, perhaps a bit warmer, where in truth she was checking to see how eager he’d be to actually want to spend time with her. To eager means he’s looking to get laid, blowing her off could mean he’s trying to bait her into following him, in the middle…well that would be hardest to judge. Part of her also wondered if someone, or Sam even, would come looking for her. Since she’d been with the caravan she’d hardly ever wandered off on her own, choosing to spend most of her time trying to take care of Sam, but in truth she had no clue where to begin patching him back together. She kept telling herself that the reason for her lack of ability in this was the fact she was human now, she didn’t have the edge that being a demon offered her, but the truth was that she was trying to find her own footing in her new role and his erratic behavior kept her off balance, unstable, unable to even take a moment to start to rationalize being human again. In truth had she taken that moment she would have seen the world was such a big and beautiful place now filled with something she had only found once before, hope. In Sam her hope had begun so many years ago when he showed her that even if she was damned she still had a choice and now, in a way because of him, she had life again, a life of possibilities. For all I know, you could be some sort of serial killer," Honestly the longer this took the less patience he seemed to have where the woman was concerned, it wasn't like he particularly liked her to begin with, in fact he had never really liked her, even when she was still a demon under his gaze. Christ though he didn't realize a woman could be that particularly bitchy, seriously how did anyone put up with her? He was surprised that she hadn't been offed by someone else yet already just because personally, she seemed to grate the nerves like that. Well at least the vessel, body whatever the hell it was now was easy enough on the eyes. He raised a brow at the suggestion, "Hmm....," The full lips of his vessel turned down in a pout as if he was thinking about the suggestion, "Perhaps if you make it an ice cream float then you have a deal, I don't come cheap after all," It was not something that he wanted to advertise, but Belial was actually ridiculously fond of ice cream and anything that had ice cream in it. Bel would blame it on the vessel if anyone was to ask, but in reality it was all him, he just really really liked the tasty iced dessert and anything that had anything to do with it. The demon turned to head into the diner, turning back to give her a little bit of a grin, "How about this, you get me a float, or a shake, whichever they have, we have a chat if you don't mind, and before you go, I'll get you more fries to make up for the cold ones," Reasonable? More then just in his opinion, after all he felt he was getting the crap end of this particular deal, he was the one having to show the restraint and to not just grab her and drag her back to hell. If she kept fighting him though, that was just what he was going to do, and then find another way to fuck with Sam Winchester. She had better make a good choice for her sake, because he was beginning to wear thin where this was concerned, Belial could only pretend to be so good. Honestly she’d rather buy the food right now, not have to owe this stranger anything, old demonic concepts of favors and debts something pushing her to make sure if favors were done they would be from her end, wanting to owe this person nothing. She then pulled the menu from it’s holder as the waitress approached them, ordering Isaac the float he wanted and herself a coke with cherry syrup in it. Then she loaded up a fry with copious amounts of ketchup and devoured it, looking over at the man. “So what did you want to talk about, we’ve already been over little old ladies and serial killers, perhaps the weather, stock prices, the decline in America’s educational standards?” Snark, she had it in spades, and right now felt safer hiding behind it till she found out what it was that the man wanted of her. She reasoned it could simply be he was attracted to her, at which she would quickly shoot him down, but it could also be he was something else as well. Damn, why hadn’t she started carrying holy water in a flask around? Well it probably was because she hadn’t totally begun to see her self as human yet and that shit stings a demon. It could also be that she walked into this situation thinking nothing of it, something that might come back to bite her in the ass. There was something odd about Belial that no one but maybe only Lucifer knew and that was the fact that he was a tad bit childish at times only when no one was looking, he had a reputation to keep up after all, "Whatever you say then Miss Rory, but the offer still stands," It was definitely becoming harder to keep acting the part of a polite sophisticated man. "Well I've got to say that if these children happen to be our future then we are all pretty fucked, excuse my language," He said with a mild grin on his fact the kind that only really turned one corner of his lips up, "So, I have to ask, only because it's so prevalent but are you always this snarky and guarded against people who attempt to be nice to you?" Damnit he couldn't help the slight annoyance that seeped into his words though he tried to keep his own sharp tongue on a tight leash, if it deteriorated any further though he was going to leave and come back when she wasn't looking and do horrible terrible things to her. 'Or is it just me?" Belial tried to smooth over the question by giving as playful a glance as he possibly could, which nearly killed him because though Bel did childish,he didn't do playful. He was relying more on the startling blue eyes and the dust of freckles on the bridge of his nose and the cheeks of his vessel to look as potentially cute, playful, and non threatening as was possible for him. He gave the waitress a thanks when she placed the float in front of him and quickly took a sip, a look of enjoyment on his face that was probably the first genuine emotion to pass across his features, "Thank you," He said to 'Rory' definitely a bit more upbeat no that he had ice cream. Of course as she bit into her fries she couldn’t help but relax a little, her favored food had that effect on her. It had been all too long since her taste buds had relished in the nirvana of deep fried crack and the sigh she let escape her lips was almost bordering on sensual. Refocusing as he spoke she picked up a few more fries, drenching them in ketchup and chuckling softly to herself, perhaps she had misjudged the situation. Her own emotional compass had been off lately and she’d been preoccupied by Sam so much that she might be on edge for no reason. Looking him over a moment she tried to give him a gentle smile. “Sorry, stress has me a bit edgy, traveling right now and in between towns, you meet a lot of people on the road who don’t have the best of intentions.” Devouring her next choice fries she followed them up with a few gulps of soda before gathering up more of her chosen addiction, letting her eyes dance back up to him playfully in an attempt to lighten the mood a bit. She’d flirt with him, talk with him, then firmly tell him goodbye when she felt she’d spent enough time away from the caravan and Sam. “So Issac, what do you do for a living?” Starting with something small, normal everyday conversation. Meant she was a little more malleable and less likely to wear down the last of his nerves with that uncalled for snark in his direction. Honestly it was no fun when he had to be the one that stayed playing nice, it wasn't his cup of tea, Belial was more into vicious verbal attacks that made people cry. But he was rather smug with himself at the moment, the demon was proving that his acting skills hadn't yet gotten rusty, then again he was the demon of deceit. He took another sip of the shake, watched her enjoy those deep fried slices of potato, christ could she have been any more unintentionally erotic about it? Women. Didn't matter what species they were, they always had to wiggle their bits around whether it was a conscious effort or not, "It's no problem, I assure you, can't blame someone for being cautious in this day and age," .....Doesn't mean you have to be quiiiite such a bitch, was the little 'inner-voice' thought, but Belial was just a petty bastard when people got pissy with him when he tried to be nice. Made him feel like he was being undermined somehow, and he hated being undermined. "Stockbroker," Bel had to take another sip of his shake to stop the laugh, well he did deal with the buying and selling of souls after all. He did love a clever little inside joke, "I'm in town to meet with a client, they were having.....issues," See there he was doing it again, putting a double meaning to things just because it gave him a dry little chuckle on the inside. Fixing the lapels of his suit he gave her one of the most charming smiles he possibly could, "I don't suppose you'd like to get into some stocks? Invest in Visa, the turnover is well worth it," Actually that was one of the most honest things that he had said thus far, the chairmen of the company had sold his soul for better stocks. They say the eyes are a window to a person’s soul and Ruby’s sadly were a bit to telling since she relaxed a little, there was sadness there, like something that was trapped behind bars. Those bars of course were of her own design as she was convinced that Sam now owned her and her penance for her betrayal of him was to stay by his side and watch as he slowly tore himself apart as he had been since she came back into his life. Truthfully she wondered every day if she could make it better by finding a crossroads and burying a box, selling her newly gifted soul in exchange for his torment to end. What kept her from doing it was two things, the first she was sure this time around that hell would rip everything human from her including her emotions so Sam and Dean, she’d be back for revenge on both of them and hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. The second was that she didn’t want to let Sam down, she couldn’t be sure of it but part of her thought that he was somehow amazed at the fact that she was somehow making it where she should be faltering, and as far as he could show he was proud of her, she didn’t want to lose that. “I’ve been in stocks once; the market is to cutthroat for me I’m afraid, I lost too much to it. I was in sales myself for a bit but I guess I don’t have the stomach for it anymore.” Honestly she had no idea that the double meaning was mutual, if she did her comments might have more of a twinge of sarcasm to them, but for now coke and fries would do. She had been one to deal in souls but not as a crossroads did, she dealt in corruption and manipulation, winning souls for hell by leading them down the crooked path of good intentions. Countless souls to the point where she’d been given the biggest job of them all, corrupt Sam Winchester, that last job she failed miserably at and Sam had honestly corrupted her.
