Father of mine Tell me where have you been
Ben had snuck out of the motel room that he was sharing with Dean. It had been a week since his home was invaded by weird people, and then there was that weird black smoke. He did ask Dean what they were, but of course he didn’t get a straight answer. He had realized a long time ago that weirdness had not started to happen around him until Dean had showed up at his eighth birthday party. Don’t get him wrong, he loves and trusts the guy as if he were actually his dad, but sometimes he wished the guy would just be up front with him. So that was the reason the little dark haired boy was walking down the sidewalk with a piece of paper clutched in his hand alone. The paper held the single address of the nearby library.
His eye darted once again to the piece of paper to make sure he was going to the right address. When he left the motel room, Dean was still slumbering in his bed. He was of course determined to get some answers that the older Winchester refuses to give him. He knew that if one knew where to look, he would be able to get the answers he seeks. He knew he could help, but the stubborn old guy wouldn’t let him. So he had decided to take matters into his own hands, and learn more about what was going on around him. Thus why he was going to a place that is loaded with information, the library. The reason he was going alone was that he was sure that Dean would stop him, and keep him from finding out what he needed to know.
So Ben entered the library, and walked up to a worker before asking to be directed to the internet accessible computers and the section on information regarding supernatural phenomenon. The nice lady directed him where he needed to be, and began to do some research. He didn’t even think that he might not be safe there, so he didn’t even know what dangers he was putting himself in by leaving Dean’s watchful eyes…

Darrius sat at a chair with 5 books stacked around him. His blue eyes blinked as he searched through books and books on demons. Old tales, old beliefs and all sorts of information. The immortal sighed as he leaned in the armchair with a huge hard-cover book in his hands. (Boy, this is gonna be fun.) he thought as he studied the text on the strangeness of demons.
The phoenix blinked as he heard feet walking in and stared up and saw Ben who walked into the library. The supernatural smiled softly before returning on his research. His ears kept a tab on the boy's voice as the mortal who asked a woman for help on a research. Darrius perked up as he heard research and softly dropped the book in his stacks. His vibrant blue eyes blinked as he looked up at Ben who sat at one of the computers. The phoenix folded his arms across his chest as he watched the young man look up what resembled a demon.

Father of mine Tell me where have you been
Ben sat at a computer terminal, staring at the screen, fingers poised above the keyboard. It was as if he didn‘t know what to type, where to start looking for answers. First he tried to search the internet for black smoke, but just came up fires. He paused yet again, trying to think of what else to add, to look up. He then typed in black smoke and iron, and a video was linked first. Knowing he couldn‘t hear the thing without headphones, he clicked the link anyway and watched the video track. He saw the thing in the video acted like the same black smoke in his home a week ago, the same thing that appeared to have zeroed in on him. The same creature that Dean had managed to somehow get stuck in a sigil on the ceiling. He quickly read the caption with the video, and saw that it said it was a demon without a host. Ever more curious, the boy then searched the vast internet for demons. He paid close attention to the sites that listed iron as a weakness…
Even then those sites were a bit off. If only Dean had told me what I wanted to know, this wouldn‘t be happening… He thought to himself and sighed, before switching over to the library‘s online catalog. He searched the database for demons looking for any books that might be helpful, and paid close attention to those that were listed in the reference section. He wrote the call numbers down, and then proceeded to hunt down the books. He did note that five of the books were not on the shelf. He didn‘t know if he would need them or not, and began to look around just to be sure that they were not miss shelved or something of the sort.

Darrius kept scanning the books he has. He took 3 to the side to put back and glance up at Ben who is still at the computer. His blue eyes blinked softly and calmly as he watched the young citizen at the computer. Darrius could also tell that the young man is searching up stories on demons.
Darrius slowly stood up and took up the 3 books that he is done with. The immortal strolled over to the boy who is collecting up books and looking around for the missing 5 books. The almost 3oo year old phoenix smiled politely. "You seem that you are looking for some books. Here, these might be some of the books your looking for." Darrius nicely handed over the 3 books that he is done looking at. One hold facts on demons and their weaknesses. The other holds some very interesting tales and stories on demons.
After handing them over, he sat down on a nearby with the two other books that he is still reading. They hold some really good details on defeating demons in fights, more stories and some other great facts

Ben continued to search for the missing books, and it seemed like forever before he was just about to give up looking and go bother the librarian again. When in actual reality, it was perhaps five minutes total. But he needed some good, solid information on the subject he was trying to learn more about. But the one person he knew had the answers would just not answer his questions, and it was like the time the same person told him that he would never ever fire a gun ever. However this time it was different, at least he could go and look up the information himself this time.
"You seem that you are looking for some books. Here, these might be some of the books your looking for."
The man’s voice was polite, and the 12 year old gave him a shy, small smile in return. He looked at the titles and nodded his head. ”Thanks.” He said and watched the guy return to his seat before taking his stack and going to a nearby table. He pulled a stack of scrap paper and a writing instrument toward him. He then began to study the information before, and the only indication he was not asleep was the periodic movement of the pencil over the paper as he made some notes. He was really hoping that he was getting the correct information, but most importantly he wanted to know what that strange symbol that Dean had painted on the ceilings of his house. The same symbol that had apparently stopped that demon cloud from getting him…

Darrius sat at his chair at a small table about 20 feet from Ben. His blue eyes looked concentrated as he drew designs on the paper from the book. One is a sign to trap demons and called a demon seal. He then drew another perfectly and it is used to send demons away. His hand kept working with his eyes on the book of images and drawings. He drew a few signs that has to do for angels. He saw one of these work and cock his head at the shape at the seal.
"Well, that is the sign that dismissed Sameal." he muttered as he frowned. He then looked up with his frown on his face before it quickly left his lips. He then looked down as he stared at the sign again. (Dang. That is why you quickly vanished from the mansion.) he thought a bit worried. The phoenix looked at the ceiling before taking the book and paper up to go to a computer.
He clicked internet and started to type super fast. The screen went to some good sites and he opened them before making a new tab. He kept looking and typing at fast speeds. His hands finally stopped after 5 fabulous sites where found. A few held videos while the rest have reference. Darrius sighed as he licked a video and turned down the volume. Its of a demon in a black man with red eyes. Darrius kept watching as the demon stepped, without knowing it, on a seal. The hunter did the last step in the seal and there was a blinding flash, when the demon got out of the body and went back to Hell. Darrius nodded softly before going to another video on a another cite. It was about angels and their gifts. It has some pictures of angels and some of the angels doing something. Darrius clicked on a video and watched as an angel went invisible when attacking a demon. The immortal remembers Samil as the video was ended when the demon was sent away. He then went to another video and watch as an angel was sent away with a seal. (Sh!t!) Darrius thought as his mouth open in a silent gasp.

Father of mine Tell me where have you been
Ben was close enough to barely hear the guy who handed him the three books, but he kept going at making notes. But most importantly, he copied by hand the symbol that he knew that was covering the ceilings of his home. He wanted to be sure he knew how to draw one if he needed to, but then the guy got up out of his seat and went to a computer terminal. The 12 year old boy ignored the change of location of the man, and went back to studying the subject he was here to study. Then a sound reached his ears, it sounded like someone typing but it was too fast for that to be true. But as he looked at the guy, he barely saw his fingers on the keyboard as they typed due to the blurry motion the created.
Not knowing what is going on exactly, the young kid‘s eyes widened wide and in fear. He knew that no human could type that fast, and he could only think of the black smoke that sought him out in his home. His reaction this time was to quietly pick up his notes, and back away from his table. He got to his feet, and calmly walked past him not seeing what he was watching. He only wanted to know more about something that Dean refuses to tell him, and now it seems that trouble had followed him to a library. I should have just stayed in the motel room, and throw a hissy fit hoping Dean would have given in and told me. He thought to himself, hoping that what he thought was a demon would not notice him attempting to leave. He thought of calling Dean and tell him that there was trouble at the library…

Darrius wrote down the site links before closing the tabs. He really did not want any mortal to come to see the sites on angels and demons. Anyway, mundanes tend to think that as fiction or fake. His blue eyes blinked slowly as he rubbed his face before looking up. He then saw Ben slowly walk away. (What the H3ck?! It seems that boy thinks that I am a demon.) he thought as his blue eyes blinked, as they seem to hold some old knowledge in their depths.
Darrius then stood up and put the two books he has in a bag on his shoulder. He then softly shoved his chair to under the desk. The phoenix shoved his hands into his jean pockets, as he slowly started to follow Ben. The immortal also holds a calmness around him as he walked behind the citizen. Darrius then started to wonder if Ben has met a demon, since the boy seems to be scared around the supernatural. The creature then threaded his hands in his blond hair as he followed Ben about 30 feet behind the young man.

Ben did his best to try to slink away without being noticed, and his hand automatically reached into his pocket to remove the cell phone Dean had given him soon after the escaped from his home. He paused briefly in his walk, looked around him as if looking for a good spot to hide in, and then darted quietly and quickly into a corner. His eyes continued to dart around, keeping a lookout for the possible demon. He then flipped open the phone, typed a quick message saying that he might be in trouble and where he was, and sent it to Dean. He hoped that the oldest Winchester wouldn‘t be too late to to come and help. Then as a second thought, he sent another message to Dean saying it might be a possible demon.
The young boy, then put the phone back into his pocket and stepped out of his corner. Before he stepped out of the corner and looked around to see if he could spot the supposed demon. And of course it was following him, and as calmly as he could he proceeded to the restroom. He hoped that the potential demon wouldn‘t follow him, as he truly didn‘t have anything on him that would defend himself against a demon. Nor did he think the librarian would appreciate him crudely drawn symbol, that he had learned was called a Devil’s Trap, that might trap him. He hoped that Dean would hurry up and get there. He would have known what to do…

Darrius followed the young man he knew that he can help. He paused and smacked his head into his hands as he saw the fright in the boy's face. (Sh!t, I scared a little boy. Thank you, God!) he thought before leaning onto a book shelf near Ben Braeden. "Hey, I am no demon. If you thinking that I am." he said only loud enough for Ben to hear him. "I feel terrible about scaring you, if I did." he told the young mortal politely.
He then started to look into the book and sighed. "If you going to make a devil's trap. It will definitely not work with me, sorry to say. Also, I promise to not to harm you in anyway. I just want to give some pointers on demons and what to look for. I know a few things that may help you, since I spend all my time and life tracking and killing demons." he told Ben fully in a soft, calm and friendly voice. His hands flipped through the book as his eyes looked down and up from the pages. He then started to hope that the boy did call anyone that will kill him. Since hunters know to hunt phoenixes, which will may be interesting to find a way to escape a hunter. He has ran away, but never faced a hunter who wants to hunt the immortal to the end. Dean had been worried at the fact that Ben had slipped out but the fact that Ben had slipped out was something that had been something that Dean hadn’t been sure of but the fact that he knew that Ben was capable of looking after himself and the amount of defences that he had put around the house had been things that made Dean think that wherever Ben had gone he had gone of his own free will and the fact that he had probably not been gone that long was something that Dean could consider and think that it was fine that Ben was gone and he was able to consider it pretty easily and thart he and Jo wouldn’t have to worry about it yet if he hadn’t come back soon then Dean would worry.
Then Dean’s phone buzzed to life with a text from ben saying that he thought that he had spotted a demon whilst he was at the library. Pulling his jeans on as he hadn’t gotten dressed after he had just gotten out of the shower he had to admit that he was concerned as to how Ben knew that he had seen a demon at the library as he was sure that the young man hadn’t really been looking for a demon and they didn’t look out of place unless you had gone looking for it. Rushing to the car he drove to the library with a pistol on the front seat. Texting Ben to let him know that he was by the door and asking him where he was before loading the gun and walking through the library.

Father of mine Tell me where have you been
Ben stood quietly in the corner, toward the back of the building, fearful and terrified of the being who had seem to take an interest in him and what he was doing. He heard the being attempt to coax him out, but he was too terrified of the thing trying to talk him out of the corner. He isn‘t going to budge, not without a certain man in sight. Not even the admittance of spending his life tracking a killing demons, made the young boy feel better. He instead of doing what anyone else who wasn‘t openly attacked in his home by demons would do, he stayed quiet not real trusting anything that was told to him.
His phone vibrated in his pocket alerting him to the fact that he had gotten a text. He quickly pulled the device back out read the message, and responded quickly by telling him that he was hiding in the far back left corner of the building from the front door. Then in a few minutes, he saw the one guy he was really happy to see at that moment. Like any scared little kid would have done, he rushed Dean and sought shelter from him. ”Dean!” He exclaimed in relief as he seemed to attach himself to the older man. Now that he was there, he knew he was of course safe. He wasn't going to let anything remove him from his impromptu guardian, but he couldn't of course help but think that if the man he was currently manacled to had answered his questions then he wouldn't have been in this situation.

Darrius sighed as the showed no signs of hearing a truth. His blue eyes blinked as he stared at Ben with frustration. (Not don't you think of this the truth. I AM NO DEMON!) he wanted to shout at the mortal and muttered in frustration. His posture stiffened a little as he know of what is coming as he heard feet walking in.
His attention perked as he heard a set of feet coming in as Ben's cell phone buzzed. (Okay, I gotta head on out... Now.) he thought before starting to retreat as a young man walked in. His blond hair moved a little at his slow stride, trying not show that he is a little frightened of Dean. His posture is relaxed, calmed and easygoing as Darrius found a seat at a table about 2-3 yards from Dean and Ben.
He buried his face in the book as if he was another library customer. Here and there he peaked over the demon book to stare at Ben and Dean with snips of interest.

Dean didn’t know what to expect when he got to the library but the lack of screaming people did confuse him and he began to wonder if Ben had made a mistake. Not that he had a problem with Ben being wrong so long as his son was ok, again not that he could prove that the young man that he thought was his son actually was his son but to Dean he was and with Dean not being sure where Lisa was he would ensure that the young man was safe. Looking around he could tell that there was a man that wasn’t that far from Ben who could have been seen as suspicious but he didn’t seem to be a problem.
As Ben hit him as like a small dark haired missile Dean had to try hard to stay on his feet. “So what did you see?” he said softly to Ben barely above a whisper.

Father of mine Tell me where have you been
Ben was frightened and it showed on him, not only did he not know anything about the things that had tried to harm him in his home he knew nothing about the world that his father, well the only man he ever knew as a father, seemed to live in. He was at the library for knowledge, and it seemed that he was getting more than he bargained for with the blond being who was of course sitting at a nearby table trying not to look too suspicious looking at him and Dean. When he saw the stranger type, he just knew that the guy wasn’t human. There was no way that a human could move their fingers that fast, no freaking way. And he only thought demon because he had only just learned what had attacked him in his home, and was researching them so that he might be able to know when he is near them in the future.
“So what did you see?”
The boy heard his whisper, and turned to look at the blond stranger. He made sure that Dean knew who he was looking at before he answered the question. ”He typed fast. I mean so fast, I barely saw his fingers. Not like super secretary fast. Like a blurry, can’t keep track of them fast.” He answered, and then looked up at Dean when he started to babble on about the oddity of the guy’s typing skills. Not once did he let go of him, too scared of what might happen if he did. Then he suddenly thought that his dad might not believe him, and he swallowed hoping that it wasn’t the case.
