Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too
I'm on the highway to hell
Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things

- Doing whatever he wants
- Power and control
- Not being hurried
- Playing with fire - literally and figuratively
- Surfing
- Fast cars and motorbikes
- The wind in his hair
- Lemon cheesecake
- Chocolate-covered strawberries
- Gambling (and winning)
Dislikes:
- Anything fake and/or cheap (freebies are different)
- Jokes and pranks being pulled on him
- Being forced or ordered to do anything
- Oranges and bananas
- People who resist him
- Law and order
- Animals in general
- Anyone who is better than him in any way
- People who make an assumption about him and are right
- Fortune tellers
- Being constantly reminded to do something
- Snobs
Strengths:
- Doesn't lose his temper easily
- Lying and coercing - getting his way
- Pretty good at pretty much whatever sport he decides to play
- Patient and calm
- Seems to have mastered the art of knowing exactly when to strike, even if he has to wait patiently for a long time for the perfect opportunity
- Poker face and hiding his emotions - some people are not aware that they've offended him until he strikes back
- Observant - years of reading people has honed his ability to know what they want and what they're willing to do to get it
Weaknesses:
- Women
- Not the best nor most logical thinker
- The opportunity to play a game
- People who are most desperate for something - the greater someone's want for something, the higher chance he has to offer them what they want for a very high price
- Demon weaknesses: salt, devil's trap, etc.
Fears:
- Feeling human - including falling in love
- Going back to Hell - he's spent a number of centuries down there, and he's enjoying causing havoc amongst the humans
- Being trapped between a rock and a hard place
Secrets:
- There was that one woman he really enjoyed spending time with, and he ran away from her because he was afraid he was getting attached.
- He was once trapped by a young witch and was forced to kill the witch's mother, who was against her daughter practicing witchcraft. He never tells anyone about this because he's humiliated to have been trapped and forced to do a nineteen-year-old's bidding.
- He prefers casual hook-ups and one night stands because he thinks any more than one night will lead to something that might cost him. If he gets attached to someone, they become a weak point of his, and he hates having weak points.
Habits/Quirks:
- Smirks whenever he sees a good challenge, gambling area, possible lay, fun game, or enjoyable party.
- Laughs when people insult him - but that's just the front. Whoever insults him better watch their backs.
- Whenever he messes up, he laughs to himself and says, "Faaaack."
Overall Personality:
Lix is pretty laidback for a demon. This may have something to do with him being raised (from hell) in Australia. He's not so much into the whole let's-kill-and-be-merry. He finds it more enjoyable to play with humans and gamble with their desires. It's not that he has a conscience or he feels bad if he kills someone - just that it was more fun when they were alive. He also feels compelled to help those who ask him for help, but he always demands payment. He gets a kick of watching humans trapped between a rock and a hard place. He does like his revenge, but he doesn't hit right back. He waits patiently like a cheetah waiting until they are close enough, before surprising his victim. He knows that if someone strikes out to him, they'd be waiting for his counterattack and would be on the defensive. He'd much rather wait until they had their guard down before unleashing his full fury.
He prefers one night stands and casual hook-ups because he is a strictly no-strings-attached guy. However, he's not so desperate to pay a hooker - he thinks it would rob him of his manliness if he had to pay someone to have sex with him. He likes to play games, and would probably flirt with someone more for the fun of the chase than of actually getting laid (although that's a nice bonus).
Pride seems to come to all demons naturally, and Lix is no different. He doesn't like having anyone order him around, because he feels that's his job, and no one else is better than him to deserve that position. He also doesn't like being hurried, and being constantly reminded to do something will probably result in them being punched in the face. He's a patient being, borne of his incredibly advanced age, and he'd appreciate it if everyone understood that.
He doesn't like animals because he feels they can read him. He doesn't like being predictable or having someone 'know' him. He likes being aloof and having a mask, because that made it harder for his enemies to try and get a read on him and know his weak points. He likes to think he's strategic - for example, when someone attacks him, he waits until their guard is down before hitting back. But he's not really that good at chess or strategy - he just happens to be incredibly patient and attack at the perfect moment. He's more lucky than strategic, his triumphs more due to perfect timing than actually planning it that way.

There Is A Monster At The End Of The Book

Mother's Name: Euphimia
Fathe'rs Name: Beelzeboul (Lucifer)
Siblings: Can't remember their names - three sisters and a brother
Overall History:
General Info
Lix can't remember his human life too well, but he believes he became a demon sometime around late 4th century to early 3rd century BC. He only remembers the first name of his mother, and very vaguely her face. The only human memory that he vividly and clearly remembers is a man offering him wealth and a comfortable place for his family. During that time, Lix' family was not well off - his mother stayed at home and his oldest brother was a cobbler. Lix remembered being envious of the rich children and their huge houses, and when a man offered him whatever he wanted, he took it without thinking. The man told him he'd be back in a year for his payment, and Lix figured that if he was wealthy, he could pay whatever the man wanted in a year. Little did he know that in a year, his soul would be rotting in Hell.
He stayed in Hell for a couple of centuries. It was in Hell he found out that his father, whom his mother had believed was dead, was actually none other than the great Beelzeboul himself. Beelzeboul convinced him rather easily to join his side, and Lix fully and willingly embraced his demonic being. He escaped Hell and enjoyed causing havoc amongst the humans, and starting fires. However, he was also bound to help humans with day-and-half fevers, and this he never really enjoyed. He took to demanding payment from whoever he helped. The day-and-half fevers modernised to pretty-much-anything that humans wanted help with, but as they sought higher wants, so Lix raised his prices to match them. In the 1st century BC, he was summoned and trapped in King Solomon's court, before being thwarted and sent to Hell (again) by the angel Azael.
He entered the human world a couple of times over the next millennium, but was always caught and sent back after a couple of decades. This time, he'd waited patiently, pushing to the less occupied places of Hell, and found a Devil's Gate in South Australia. It had been forgotten by the hunters, most of them preoccupied with easier game in America. Even the Angels seemed more focused on the United States. Lix worked with a Crossroads demon to coerce a human into opening the Devil's Gate. Lix escaped with a few other demons, before Lix himself closed the Gate. He didn't want attention drawn to it - the less demons escaped, the less attention drawn, the higher possibility Lix could use it again.
He body-hopped until he reached a city, and found a suitable meatsuit. His chosen victim was a twenty year old man named Josh Harbour. Josh was single and had lots of vices. Lix didn't have much trouble taking control of Josh, not when the human was so Hell-bound. Lix accidentally formed a bit of a relationship with a woman, before he decided to move (run away) to bigger cities for bigger fish to fry. He heard stories of the Apocalypse starting in America, packed his bags, and moved to the United States. He has lived in and out of hotels for the last two years, living as a backpacker to be able to move quickly to places of interest. Lix/Josh is now twenty-five years old.

Roleplay Sample:
A particularly muse-filled starter post on a NextGen Harry Potter forum.
Astoria sat primly and stiffly on a chair outside Florean Fortescue's. Her pale face was twisted slightly as she contemplated the sheer number of people who had previously sat in that seat, and where they could have possibly been. All the dirt and filth and ugh, Astoria couldn't believe she was actually doing this - a pureblood housewife, going out for a sundae in Diagon Alley in the heat of summer.
She clicked her fingers, and a house-elf - the cousin or something of one of her original elves - brought her a handkerchief. She delicately wiped her brow, trying to ignore the looks sent to her. She could just imagine what they were thinking: 'Look at this pureblood lady, sweating at the thought of unclean seats.' She ignored them. They could judge her, but for once, she was stepping out of her little bubble to do something for someone else.
That didn't mean she had to be graceful about it.
She was waiting for someone, someone she hadn't seen in months; maybe she'd never even properly seen this someone. Looking back on her memories of them, she couldn't ever remember the two of them gossiping or sharing secrets. Astoria knew this someone's name was Chara Ella Malfoy, and she was her daughter, and she was in Slytherin, but as to what she liked, what she didn't like? It was like the girl Astoria called her daughter was a stranger.
What had happened? When did they become so distant? She'd always taken Ella out to galas and dress-shopping and teas and nearly every social function she went to. Why was it that she never even suspected Ella's... issue? Didn't even have an inkling until the Headmistress herself had sent a letter, concerned about the health of her - Astoria's - daughter.
The Healer at the facility had invited her to visit her daughter, but terrified of being found out, Astoria'd declined. She had read the cold disapproval on the Healer's face, and so Astoria had acquiesced into spending the day out with her daughter. The Healer had told her to let Ella start slow and small, but to get her started - Astoria, not having the faintest clue what 'slow and small' meant, had suggested in throwing an entire gala in celebration of the 'homecoming' of her daughter. Again, there were those cold, hard lines on the Healer's face. The Healer had suggested a day out in Diagon Alley, just mother and daughter.
Astoria had almost shrunk into her seat. Diagon Alley? Whole day? Just the two of them? What were they to do? It was then that the Healer had told her in a clipped tone to go out for ice cream, and it had been with great difficulty that Astoria restrained herself from asking, "Ice cream?"
Astoria pushed the thoughts away roughly. Who was the Healer to tell her what to do, anyway? She was here because she was planning to take her daughter out dress-shopping for the gala that she was planning, and they might as well get a bit of tea before they went. She just had to remind herself to get a hold of Noelle Chaucer to plan the gala.
But she could do that tomorrow. Or, you know, the day after.
The pureblood lady sat in her seat, pondering, wondering, thoughts chasing each other out into the wind.
