The library wasn't a common place Gabriel could be found. He thought books were boring and reading was for the dull. Why he was in a library today was for a very specific purpose, and that was he knew it was the way to locate a certain sibling of his. It was unusual that Gabriel would ever be trying to find one of his brothers. Gabriel had skipped out of Heaven in an attempt to avoid ever seeing their faces again. The younger Archangel hadn't been able to stand the bickering any longer, even with the assistance of this particular brother. Gabriel didn't think too much on it. He was too busy with all the exciting things on Earth, and boy were there some ...excitements. His lips twitched into a small smirk. Who would ever think of going back Upstairs when there were so many gullible people down here? And the pretty women. One couldn't forget about the women.
Life was a fake Pagan God was good. He could do whatever he wanted, whenever, and get away with it. Daddy didn't say anything about anything anymore. He had taken a vaca just like him. If one were to think of it they might be amused. A father had left, seemingly for good, and a son had followed suit. Like father, like son. The thought never occurred to Gabriel.
He toured the library. He'd been looking through quite a few of them with a hope, deep down, to run across Ramiel. Gabriel couldn't explain the need to find him. Ramiel was so straight-laced even Catholics would fall asleep in his presence. He was just that boring. He was, though, good for information. Lately Gabriel had fallen behind on the going-ons. Ramiel would be able to fill him in. Though, on the inside, he felt nervous. He wanted to find his brother, but at the same time he wanted to run away and forget about it. With every library he found nothing he kept trying to convince himself to stop. If he stopped now, then nothing would change. Life would go on as he had carved it, and things would be okay. Heaven was none of his business, and neither was Hell. It was possible that, if he found Ramiel, things would be forced to become his business.
Gabriel's hands stuffed into his pockets as he paused and gave a final look-over of the area. Nothing. Ramiel wasn't here.

He wasn't the easiest person to find, not in the slightest. In fact, it had been damn near impossible and was the reason it had taken her what felt like forever and a day to actually locate the renegade angel. Why did it matter so much to Sariel when most of the others either had either given up? She felt bad, she felt bad about everything. The angel felt she should have been watching him better, that she could have helped him more to keep him from running off the grid the way that he had, she felt she needed to apologize, that and she just missed her brother, as offbeat as he was. When Sari finally zeroed in on him she was there. It took all of half a second for her to appear in the library, a frown etched into the pretty features of her vessel as she trotted past all the old dusty shelves of books. She came to a stop in front of her brother, looking up at him with utter seriousness, back straight and frowning deeper as she looked him over, "Gabriel, your a hard one to find," She had to collect on more then a few favors and then pull some strings to finally pinpoint him. Looking him over once again the frowned softened into something more tired, sadder then most that knew her would think she was capable of, "I'm sorry," She had always felt like it had been her fault that the others had fallen or run away, that she should have been watching them and helping them all more then she had. Sariel felt like she had failed them all, "Brother, I've missed you, we all have," Some more then others but she was sure that they all did in their own little way. The sight of Sariel caused a mounting feeling of dread to well up in the archangel's stomach. On the plus side, she probably knew where Ramiel was. On the other hand, though, she'd found him. After everything he'd done to avoid being found Sariel had found him. This meant somewhere something was flawed. His protection was not complete. If he could be found by her, then who else could find him? Any of his older brothers and sisters, maybe? Gabriel made note to retrace his steps and erase anything that could've hinted to his existence here. He didn't care if he had to kill to do it--Gabriel did not want to be found.
"Sariel," he spoke with a tint of fondness. He hadn't been as close to her as he had been to, say, Ramiel or Lucifer, but she had still held a spot in his heart. Sariel had been a kind sister who he could retreat to if Ramiel was not an option at the time Michael and Lucifer had raged on each other. Sometimes Ramiel had simply wanted to be alone in the Record to deal with it on his own. Gabriel had turned to Sariel in these times. "How the hell did you find me?"
His first instinct was to run away. There was a guilt in him that began to ate away whenever he saw one of his siblings. Gabriel had tried so hard to jar up the emotions and push them down. His siblings being in his presence only tugged at the jar. It had been in his best interest to leave to keep it all stored away. He didn't want to deal with the serious. He didn't want to face the guilt he felt for all of Heaven's fighting...or the way he hated himself for doing nothing about it...for being a coward...
The archangel shook his head. No, that was ridiculous. His expression grew blank. Gabriel pushed it all away and laughed at her comment, perhaps a bit harshly. "Miss me? No one misses me. Not even the Big Man himself if he were still kicking. They're all too busy with the sticks up their asses. What're you sorry for, Sariel? I didn't leave because of you." His hazel eyes looked over her vessel. "Nice vessel, by the way. You picked a looker." He shifted uncomfortably, "what do you want? I suspect you haven't come here for a chit-chat, hm? I'm not going back, if that's what you're fishing for."

[c There was the smallest hint of a decidedly naughty smile on her face at the question, "You forget brother, I've got all sorts of friends in many different places," She couldn't help being a little mysterious about it, after all if she ever needed to find him again she wanted to be able to. Plus there was no need in getting poor Ramiel in trouble with their little brother, the angel had been a tough one to rack but Sariel could do a lot when she had all the time in the world and put her mind to it. She sighed quietly, not caring for the snark at the moment, "How can you know for sure? You aren't there," Sariel said quietly a look on her face that said she wasn't into any sort of verbal shenanigans, it was a low blow, she knew that but sometimes she was a little too blunt when it came to getting her point across. It was just the way she was, Sariel didn't really know the meaning of beating around the bush, "I'm sorry that you had a reason to leave at all," She fidgeted a little, playing with her dress, brows furrowed and a sorry look in her eyes, "I'm sorry I couldn't watch out for you better, any of you actually," The second part was quiet, all but a whisper. Sari had to blush for for a second, she kept getting comments on her vessel from just about everyone and most weren't exactly the best, "Ahh...thank you," She gave him one of her old, warm smiles, though it seemed to falter a bit at the question, "No, if you come back it will only be because you wanted to," The blond sighed a little, "I'm sure you know by now that something...horrible is happening," Sariel walked past him, looking at the titles on some of the covers, "I just....I just wanted to see if you were alright," Biting on the ball of her vessels tongue ring she wondered how to phrase what she was trying to convey at the moment. "You have all sorts of friends in many different places? So, basically, you mean you nagged Ramiel until he cracked. Did I hit the jackpot?" His voice took a harsh tone toward the end of his sentence. Gabriel strolled around the table before snatching a chair, twisting it, and sitting down in the wrong direction. His hands draped over the back of the chair and he threw her a quizzical look. "It isn't a guessing game, sis. You know I may be M.I.A, but I still get the heavenly updates and all that jazz. When I ditched that prison not a single one of you tried to find me. Not that I wanted you to."
Gabriel wasn't that childish. He hadn't ran off just for them to play hide-and-seek and prove that someone upstairs cared. Well, okay, maybe he'd been a little hopeful back when he was younger and more naive that someone would at least take a small peek into his whereabouts, but alas...to him it mattered not anymore. In the time he'd spent on this planet he'd grown up a little bit...just a little bit. Gabriel was forever a carefree individual at heart. He wasn't afraid to act like a rambunctious child. He just didn't throw temper tantrums like his older brother Lucifer tended to do.
Her reasons for being sorry almost made his eyes roll. "Sariel, you know you couldn't have stopped any of that. You sound just like Ramiel. He was the same way..." Gabriel gestured his arms out wide, "but look where we are, sis, we're still here. The story was always going to go that way. It's a part of the big, grand plot that will eventually lead to the end of this book. And you know what? We mean nothing to it. This isn't our story." His arms returned to their resting place and he smiled, "so I'm just going to kick back and relax while riding it to the end. We've known since dad flipped the lights on in this place what was going to happen. Why fight it?"
Her concern at his well-being softened him. Gabriel was closer to Sariel than most of his siblings. Sariel and Ramiel were probably the two he'd hung around most besides Lucifer. He was quietly happy that she, too, was seemingly alright. "Well, you see me here...don't you, big sis?" He chuckled softly, "I'm not a kid anymore, y'know. I can stand on my own two feet. I've been doing fine on my own." Gabriel's head cocked to the side, "and what about you? Why did you come to Earth?"
