Dean refers to teleportation as "beaming", and on some occasions as "zapping". The process can be uncomfortable for humans, according to Dean. It may involve:
Creating sudden wind, shattering lights (Castiel), and causing an Eastern Seaboard blackout (Raphael) when manifesting.
Covert arrival, i.e. when Anna Milton attacked Uriel, or when Castiel attacked Zachariah's henchmen.
Invisibility - Angels, even while occupying vessels, can render themselves unseen.
Healing - Angels have the ability to heal humans. When angels are disconnected from Heaven, they lose this power, as shown during Castiel's defection from Heaven.
For example, Michael heals Sam, and Castiel heals Dean.
Angels are able to maintain their vessels without food, water, or sleep, and to heal them after they are injured. Lucifer healed Nick's body after he was shot by the Colt. Castiel has healed his vessel, Jimmy Novak. Their vessels also appear resistant to disease. However, when Castiel is on the verge of becoming mortal, Pestilence is able to infect him. Possessed vessels do not seem to age. Also, angels in vessels can become drunk, but it takes an extremely large amount of alcohol.
Sedation - As displayed by Castiel & Michael, angels have the ability to make humans unconscious by placing two fingers on their foreheads.
Exorcism/Kill - Angels have the ability kill/exorcise demons by placing a hand on the forehead of a possessed individual as demonstrated by Uriel and Castiel. Extremely powerful demons are immune to touch, e.g. Alastair. This works on monsters like Vampires too, as displayed by Castiel in 6.19 Mommy Dearest
Supernatural perception - Angels are able to see objects and beings that are invisible to humans, for e.g. Reapers and Enochian Sigils.
Telepathy - Angels have the ability to communicate using their minds.
Dreamwalking - Angels can enter human dreams in order to communicate with them. They do not need to know where the person is to use this ability.
Soulreading - By reaching into a human's chest, an angel can read marks left on the human's soul by another angel. This procedure is very painful for the human, but leaves little physical damage. Thus far, this ability has only been used by Castiel.
Soulchanneling - Angels can use the energy from souls to empower themselves. Castiel siphons some energy from Bobby's soul to pull Sam and Dean forward in time. He absorbs fifty thousand damned souls to declare war on Raphael. He manages to destroy Raphael by taking in the souls of Purgatory.
Voice mimicry - Angels have the ability to sound like any human they choose.
Knowledge of all prophets - Castiel claims that Leah, the Whore of Babylon, is not a prophet because he has every prophet's name "seared" into his brain, and it is likely that all angels do as well.
Time travel - Angels have the ability to go backward and forward through time, though this is difficult without Heaven's assistance.
Memory Manipulation - Angels have the ability to take away and restore a human's memories. Angels can also implant fake memories. Displayed by Zachariah, Michael, & Castiel.
Revelation - Angels can implant visions into a prophet’s mind, as demonstrated when Zachariah uses Chuck.
Resurrection - Some angels are sufficiently powerful to resurrect humans, even from Hell.
Gabriel resurrects Dean and so does Castiel when Dean is returned from Hell.
Joshua resurrects Sam and Dean; Zachariah resurrects Adam.

Inflicting Harm - Zachariah gives Dean stomach cancer and removes Sam's lungs. He also injures Adam, causing him to cough up blood. Castiel uses this ability, similar to demon exorcism and the pyrokintic power used by Michael on Anna, on Lenore to kill her in 6.19 Mommy Dearest
Cryokinesis - Lucifer proved capable of freezing objects by breathing on them; this occurred while he was manifesting in his vessel.
Weather manipulation - Raphael, Michael, and Lucifer all manipulated weather at will.
Altering reality - Gabriel has shown the ability to create living beings, creatures, objects and imaginary realities out of nothing. He also showed the ability to reshape objects and human bodies, including his own vessel, and he was able to create an exact copy of himself as well. Lucifer taught him this.
Destructive White Light - Similar to Lilith's ability in depiction, however comes with the blue tinged that represents angelic presence, suggesting this is an extension of the Angel's true form. When Castiel used this power, he ordered the humans to "Shut your eyes!" as Anna did when she regained her true form, destroying Alastair's host. The light is powerful enough to kill a diner full of Eve's "perfect creations" the Jefferson Starships in 6.19 Mommy Dearest. This may have been what the Sherriff witnessed Raphael using on demons at a gas station in 5.03 Free To Be You And Me.
Lucifer can:
Overpower primordial beings like pagan gods and all lower-classed angels.
He had the power to make Castiel explode with a snap of his fingers.
Perceive the true forms of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as he demonstrated when he saw Death's true form.
Remain unaffected by time.
Bind entities to his presence by conducting a ritual, as he demonstrated with Death.
Weaknesses[/color]: An Archangel's Sword can kill him.
The other Weapons of Heaven can harm and possibly kill Lucifer. Lot's Salt, one of the weapons, turned Raphael's vessel into a pillar of salt, which made it uninhabitable.
The Colt can damage, but not kill, Lucifer, who says that he is one of "only five things in all of creation that that gun can't kill."
Archangels may be able to harm each other without weapons, as Michael and Lucifer went unarmed to their confrontation.
Some spells can harm archangels. Kali bound Gabriel to her location by gaining a blood sample from his human vessel, and Castiel attempted to summon Raphael to his vessel using Enochian. Enochian Sigils can hide a person from archangels.
Holy Fire can restrain an archangel; Holy Fire can also be used to banish an archangel for a short period of time.
Lucifer's Cage is strong enough to secure or Archangels, as seen with Michael and Lucifer.
Despite the fact that angels, under normal circumstances, can't harm an Archangel, if they can tap into the power of enough souls, they can banish, or even kill them.

Second created, Lucifer was the most stunning angel in all of existence. He was beloved of all the angels, including his brother Michael. Thanks to his father’s love he gained arrogance and pride so when humanity was created he was unwilling to accept that God loved them more then him. When he, along with the rest of heaven, was commanded to love the humans more than God Lucifer refused to do so. Lucifer pleaded: "Father, I can't. These humans are flawed. Murderous!" After persistent disobedience, Lucifer was cast out of Heaven.
Angered, Lucifer decided to take revenge but taking a human woman, Lilith, and removing her humanity to create the first demon. Because of this sin Michael came down from heaven and forced him into the Cage, where he stayed for millennia in isolation. All he could think about was how much he hated the humans for causing this and how he wanted to find a way out of the Cage in order to wipe them from the earth. He also knew once he removed humanity from the world he would also destroy the demons, finding them even less worthy than humans.
Lucifer says he never lies, what he does do is twist facts to fit with what he needs. He takes people in by sympathizing with them, gaining trust. With Nick and Sam he promised to be honest with them and pointed out to the both of them how they were victims like he was. With Sam he even spared Dean’s life once and allowed Sam to get revenge against some of the demons who controlled his life in order to get his acceptance.

God created the first four Archangels—Michael, Lucifer, Raphael and Gabriel. The four formed a strong bond as brothers. After the creation of mankind, Lucifer began to argue with his brothers and with God over these new, imperfect beings. The arguments became so heated and bitter that Gabriel chose to leave Heaven rather than watch the fighting continue. According to Lucifer, God commanded his Angels to venerate Man, but Lucifer refused, and was cast out of Heaven. As an act of defiance, Lucifer twisted a human being's soul to create the first demon, Lilith. He was then confined against his will in a Cage by God. The Cage could only open if sixty-six of the six hundred seals on the Cage broke. During his confinement, demons multiplied, and some worshiped him as their creator.
In 1972, Azazel possesses a priest at St. Mary's Convent, and killed eight nuns in the chapel. This sacrifice enables him to speak to the imprisoned Lucifer, whose cage opens beneath the convent. Lucifer tells Azazel that Lilith is needed to break seals that hold him captive in the Cage, and that Azazel needs to find a very special child.
Lucifer is freed when the last seal is broken inadvertently by Sam when he kills Lilith. While on Earth, Lucifer, with the help of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, causes chaos and natural disasters. He intends to destroy humanity and to kill Michael. Essential to Lucifer's plan is the possession of his destined vessel - Sam Winchester.
Sam and Dean try to find a way of defeating Lucifer without giving in to the plans of Heaven. They attempt to kill Lucifer with the Colt, but fail. Eventually Sam comes up with a plan in which he will allow Lucifer to possess him, and then force him into the Cage. The initial attempt fails, but when Lucifer confronts Michael at Stull Cemetery, Sam manages to gain enough control to force himself and Lucifer into the Cage, pulling Michael in as well.
After Lucifer's defeat, a group of traditionalist angels, led by Raphael, hope to release both Lucifer and Michael to complete the Apocalypse as prophesied. When Sam is released from the Cage, his soul remains behind, perhaps being abused by Lucifer and Michael.
When Castiel dared to enter the cage to retrieve Adam Lucifer saw his chance and like the being of shadow he was followed the angel out unseen. Back in the world he reached out, finding a teenager on death row waiting out his final nights and appeared to him while he prayed. It was easy to convince the plan B vessel to consent to him and soon the both of them slipped out of the prison and back into the world. For his part Lucifer has taken up residence in one of the many posh offices that had been abandoned by companies going belly up in the financial disasters happening all over the country, this one in particular in New York City, and is now beginning to call to him those loyal demons in order to build up his army again along with feed himself as this vessel, like Nick, will eventually burn out.
